NEW KIWI TRIPOD HEAD FROM KAIDAN by Michelle Bienias Kaidan announced a totally redesigned KiWi tripod head. It comes standard with click stops (new interchangeable ClickDiscs) and is constructed of lightweight composites (about twice as stiff as the previous model) and has a built-in bubble level and support for both 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 tripod threads.
Kaidan popularized panoramic QTVR photography with its KiWi tripod head eight years ago and the new KiWi continues that tradition with an affordable (starting at $199.95), rugged, lightweight and elegant design that includes an innovative detent click stop mechanism (10,12,14,16,18 & 20 stops - standard, 2 through 28 stops optional), handy detent disc storage pouch with number-of-shots chart, built-in bubble level and an adjustable camera bracket. The KiWi is also easily upgradeable with optional camera brackets to support fisheye lenses. The KiWi offers a choice of camera brackets, a Standard Bracket (nice for cylindricals) and an optional Twin-Axis Bracket, great for Fisheye panoramics. The two independent axes of adjustment are convenient for cylindrical panoramas too. Both brackets have the option of an Arca-style Quick Release and come with a new DiamondGrip friction surface to keep your camera firmly seated on the bracket. Pricing will start at $199.95. Kaidan will be showing the new KiWi along with other new products at the upcoming Summit in Sedona event, and is offering anyone who is registered for The Summit in Sedona a new Kiwi panhead from Kaidan if you get a friend to register before Oct. 22, 2004. Offer is good from Oct. 1 to Oct. 22.
