WAR GAMES
by Michelle Bienias

"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."
Albert Einstein

Dermot O’Connor is the Irish animator behind the Flash website with the strange name – Idleworm – an Elizabethan term used to describe what grew under the fingernails of lazy girls.

Dermot has created a wonderfully politically incorrect (depending on your stance) war game called ‘Gulf War II’, complete with Saudi, Iraqi, U.S., Turk, Kurd, Taliban and British army units, stealth bombers and tanks and the entire Bush contingent, who pop up intermittently to give news and diplomatic alerts. Unfortunately, the team of Dick Cheney, Colin Powell, Donald Rumsfield, Condoleeza Rice and John Ashcroft seem to miscalculate developments and further aggravate hostilities.

What Dermot's game clearly demonstrates is the absurdity of war. View the game to see how it all ends.
